After an early morning car cleaning session (ready for lots of pictures) we left the hotel and drove the Grossglockner!
From there we made the descent into Italy and the sprint over to Venice. By the time we got there it was 37 degrees, humid and busy (Friday evening).
Leaving the calm oasis of the air conditioned Lexus we parked in one of the garages by the bus station (I found this really helpful guide of where to park in Venice) and took a boat taxi to our hotel.
Venice seemed to be an extremely pretty version of Leicester Square – full of tourists (all lost), the food is terrible but tourists will buy it so no effort is required, and it is far more expensive than the non tourists areas surrounding it.
The next destination was Monaco – which was reasonable in comparison!
